Save-The-Date for "Lucky In Love",  February 10, 2012 at Hotel Concord.

Cabarrus CARES has scheduled its 6th annual Lucky In Love silent auction fundraiser at Hotel Concord on February 10, 2012.  The Hotel is located at 14 Union Street North in downtown Concord. The event will begin at 6 p.m.

“It makes a great evening out for many of our patrons,” said Patsy Beeker, president of Cabarrus CARES.  “You can pick up some wonderful last-minute Valentine’s Day gifts at our silent auction such as massages, manicures, art, jewelry, sports gear and restaurant gift certificates and you’ll really look good for that special day.“

The event is casual and all proceeds go toward efforts to improve the lives of pets and the humans who love them.

Tickets for the dinner and auction are $25 by advance reservation only and can be purchased at Kitty City, 30 Union St. South in downtown Concord.

My, my – look at how many black kitties live at our place!  Save a Tuxedo kitty
It’s the plight of black cats and black and white tuxedos – even families who come in to adopt a particular little midnight furball are often distracted by a plush orange tabby or an exotic blue-eyed face. And out goes the brightly colored kitty while little Pooh Bear, Dagwood, Jory, Tuxie, Betsey or Cocoa returns to play with a plastic ball in the cage.
This year Kitty City launched our “Save the Tuxedo” program to bring attention to the many attributes of black cats. They really are the luckiest cats; the best families choose them! They are smart and sleek. Like Pooh Bear, they often are more affectionate than any other color.
But they are often left behind.
Our tuxedo T-shirts have been a real hit with shoppers, and our Save a Tuxedo BBQ Bash is a great way to celebrate the Year of the Tuxedo. Please join us.
On Sunday, October 9, we’ll gather at The Orchard House from 2 - 6:00 p.m. for an afternoon of fun, music, games and great cooking by Byrd’s Barbeque. You can feast on pork or chicken and all the fixin’s. You also may purchase a glass of wine or beer and get in the swing to the sounds of soft rock or bluegrass, or you can just relax and enjoy. We’ll also have games – corn hole, horse shoes, and other free entertainment, plus a chance to win prizes and money playing bingo.
The Orchard House, a wedding and events venue, is located beside Green Oaks Golf Course on Hamby Branch Road, just off of Miami Church Road. On a fall afternoon, there’s no better place to enjoy friends and good food!
In case of less than perfect weather, The Orchard House has a large tent to keep us dry and comfortable.
Come by Kitty City to purchase your tickets, T-shirts, order your “Tuxedo” aprons for Christmas giving, or pick out that special black cat that’s been waiting for you! For more information call 704-795-5212 .
